We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider to join our dynamic OB/GYN team at IU Health North in Carmel, IN. In this inpatient and outpatient setting, you will work collaboratively with our physicians to provide comprehensive care to a diverse population of adolescent and women of all ages.
Position Details:
Full-time, Days
Monday-Friday 8-hour days
No weekends, holidays, or call
60% Outpatient
40% Inpatient
Working directly with 5-7 Physicians and working directly with 11 APP's
Procedures:
IUD insertions, Birth control implant insertions, endometrial biopsies, vulvar biopsies, Incision & drainage, First Assist in surgeries
Job Responsibilities:
Assist OBGYN physicians in the operating room as they perform complex gyn surgery, help perform postoperative rounds on admitted post-op GYN patients, and see post-op patients in clinic for evaluation.
This role is a 1.0 FTE with 36-patient facing hours and 4 hours of administrative duty time each week.
Patient Care: Conducting thorough assessments, diagnosing conditions, and developing treatment plans for OB/GYN patients
Testing and Diagnostics: Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests to inform patient care decisions
Documentation: Accurately documenting patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up care in electronic medical records
Education: Educating patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventative care.
Follow-up: Providing follow-up care to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
Collaboration: Working closely with physician and collaborators and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, coordinated care
Qualifications:
Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with FIRST ASSIST experience and OBGYN experience is a PLUS
Ideal candidates will have a strong background in surgery and serve as a FIRST ASSIST in the OR in the past.
At least 1-3 years' experience
Active state licensure and certification
Strong clinical skills and experience in an OB/GYN setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to providing compassionate, patient centered care
New Grads must have experience in labor and delivery is a must. Experience in inserting IUD and implants
Experience in OBGYN
