We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiac Anesthesiologist and Medical Director for Cardiac Anesthesiology to provide anesthesia care for patients undergoing cardiac, thoracic, and major vascular procedures at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital in Clermont, FL. The ideal candidate will have advanced training in cardiac anesthesia, perioperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and the management of critically ill cardiovascular patients. This role requires close collaboration with cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, intensivists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Practice Highlights for Cardiac Anesthesiologist:
Provide comprehensive anesthetic care for adult cardiac surgery patients, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair/replacement, and complex vascular procedures
Perform and interpret intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) to guide surgical and anesthetic decision-making
Manage cardiopulmonary bypass, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced cardiovascular support technologies
Delivering perioperative care, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative management, and postoperative pain and critical care support
Respond to emergencies and participate in on-call coverage as required
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and high-quality care
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
Practice Highlights for Medical Director for Cardiac Anesthesiology at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital:
In addition to the Cardiac Anesthesiologist, the Medical Director will need to be highly skilled visionary with an interest in building a Cardiac Anesthesiology program.
Responsible for the strategic and operational leadership for the Cardiac Anesthesiology program.
Oversee clinical quality, staff development, and interdisciplinary collaboration ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Qualifications:
MD or DO with the completion of an ACGME/AOA accredited Anesthesiology Residency program.
Fellowship training in Cardiac Anesthesiology from an ACGME/AOA accredited program
Board eligible or board certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Association
Unrestricted FL Medical License (or the ability to obtain one) and DEA
Advanced training or certification in perioperative TEE (e.g., National Board of Echocardiography certification preferred)
