SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Registered Nurses in the Medical Surgical Float Pool are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients with and without telemetry. The RN?s in the pool will float to the following units: Pediatric Intensive Care, Pediatric Intermediate Care, Pediatric Progressive Care, Pediatric Surgical Care, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Neonatal Intensive Care, Women?s and Babies (Postpartum), Pediatric Emergency Department, Pediatric Perianesthesia.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
• AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three years of RN experience in the field of Medical Surgical Nursing.
• Current BLS, PALS and/or NRP.
• BSN and Certification.
