Loyola University Chicago’s Stritch School of Medicine is seeking a board certified or board eligible pediatrician for a permanent full-time faculty position as a pediatric hospitalist for its community site. Join a group of dedicated physicians who provide newborn and pediatric care in a community setting, educate medical students and family medicine residents, and are leaders in quality improvement and patient safety. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and clinical skills, have experience working in the community setting, have strong delivery room skills and have an interest in medical education. We offer a diverse clinical experience, including delivery room care, well newborn care, inpatient pediatric care and consultation in the emergency department. In-hospital 24-hour shifts allow flexibility of schedule. MacNeal Hospital is a 347-bed community hospital located in Berwyn, Illinois, 10 miles west of Chicago and is 4 miles away from Ronald McDonald Children’s Hospital. Inpatient pediatrics includes 10 floor beds, and a Level 2 Nursery with a neonatologist available for critical deliveries.
Ronald McDonald Children’s Hospital is a 125-bed tertiary care pediatric “hospital within a hospital” which consists of 50 neonatal intensive care beds, 25 newborn bassinets, 14 pediatric intensive care beds, 36 general inpatient and intermediate-care beds, providing care to a large multicultural population. The Department of Pediatrics is comprised of approximately 90 full-time faculty members devoted to the care of children and adolescents from birth to 21 years of age. Our faculty includes pediatric medical and surgical specialists as well as community based primary care physicians. Nursing care is delivered by a staff certified Magnet status since 2008, in a patient-centered environment. The residency training program consists of 30 categorical pediatric and 16 medicine-pediatrics resident trainees.
