AdventHealth’s Transition to Acute Care Training Program (TTAC) is for the Experienced RN who is interested in transitioning into an Acute Care Unit (PCU) from another specialty. This 10-16 week program incorporates comprehensive body systems modules including anatomy and physiology, various body systems conditions, diagnostics, nursing care and treatment. This online approach provides the basic didactic critical care content with educational activities that is reinforced in clinical experience with a preceptor.
Full-time paid internship and nursing position
Blended didactic and precepted clinicals
Shift flexibility desired as shifts are not guaranteed

The community you’ll be caring for: Orange City is part of a larger metropolitan area comprised of Deltona, Daytona Beach, and Ormond Beach. Though not right on the coast, it does offer easy access to the beach and many state parks where nature lovers can enjoy swimming, hiking, canoeing, and watching wildlife. Nearby Deltona is a mostly residential community with a cost of living that is 15 percent lower than the national average. It’s convenient location near Orlando means that within a half-hour drive, you can attend live concerts and sporting events, visit theme parks, or indulge in world-class shopping and dining.
The role you’ll contribute:
The Registered Nurse uses nursing skills of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in their patient care delivery. Primary function is the delivery of competent, compassionate, and cost-effective nursing care. To utilize the nursing process in the direction and administration of the medical and nursing plan of care. This performance is in compliance with established policies, procedures and protocols under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Director, Vice President of Clinical Services, and or designee.
What Will You Need:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Associate of Science degree in Nursing.
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Bachelors’ degree in Nursing (BSN)

Demonstrates effective assessment skills to ensure quality patient care is provided.
Performs and documents accurate initial assessment per unit standard which may include:initial observation, obtaining and interpreting information in terms of the patients' needs, safety, discharge planning, psych/social/cultural, family needs, multi-system physical assessment, patient/family level of knowledge and readiness to learn about disease process and care requirements. Reports appropriate information in a timely manner to responsible physician.
Observes and monitors patient lab work for trends and reports abnormal lab tests to the appropriate physician and obtains appropriate interventions.
Utilizes clinical data to implement appropriate interventions.
Performs and documents ongoing patient assessment which accurately reflects patients' physical and mental status ranging from child to geriatric according to unit standards and patient condition.
