Job Summary:
The Cage Wash Manager leads the operation of decentralized cage wash facilities. Ensures that the production of sanitized animal caging supplies and equipment meets or exceeds customer demand.

Additional Key Elements/ Responsibilities:
- Reviews documentation and identifies trends that deviate from regulatory requirements. Directs corrective actions to ensure compliance and reports deviations to leadership.
- Consults with management peers to determine equipment levels for each facility. Schedules transportation and storage of equipment with internal and external resources.
- Monitors and documents inventory levels of caging and consumable supplies. Orders as needed to meet housing and consumption demands of facilities.
- Schedules preventative and corrective maintenance for all equipment. Monitors effectiveness of the maintenance providers and reports to leadership.
- Monitors and prioritizes the processing of caging and support equipment to meet program demand.
- Trains staff on wash room operations focussing on safety, equipment maintenance and production efficiency.
- Inspects wash room facilities and assesses output to verify compliance with operating and regulatory requirements related to care of laboratory animals.
TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:
MATERIAL PROCESSING (ADVANCED): Efficiency in working a series of steps to complete a process. Understanding what it takes to run machinery and the parameters for washing and sterilizing equipment.
LABORATORY ANIMAL DISEASES (FUNDAMENTAL AWARENESS): Knowledge of and experience with laboratory animal diseases, outbreaks, methods of spread, and methods of limiting disease.
