Registered Nurse, Dual Diagnosis

Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital

*$10k Signing Bonus

Your Role:

The Registered Nurse will apply the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards. * $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

Additional Key Responsibililties:

  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
  • Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
  • Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
  • The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.
  • Nurse Patient Ratio - 1:6
Department/Unit Summary:

Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital is an 106-bed facility. It has three adult units in addition to a Child and Adolescent Unit. Our Adult II unit is a 16-bed dual diagnosis unit that treats patients with addictions as well as a co-morbid psychiatric illness, resulting in a population of addicted pregnant women and patients with chronic addiction issues. We also may see young people with new addiction issues that have become suicidal.

Position Shift:

* Two seperate positions are available: (1) Full-Time Night Shift, 11p-7a & (1) Full-Time Evening Shift, 3p-11p, are both available.
