Reporting to the Director of Surgical Services/RN Shift Manager, the Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) is responsible for assisting the primary surgeon in the pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative period.
Care is provided to pediatric through geriatric patient populations; acts in the absence of a qualified physician.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Active California RN license
CNOR Certification preferred
Certified RNFA preferred
Graduate of a RNFA program accredited by the Certified Board of Peri-operative Nursing
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Masters degree) Preferred
Excellent communication skills
Excellent teamwork and collaboration
Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Must be fluent in spoken and written English
Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
