The Senior Counsel-Contracts will provide general legal counsel to Nemours Children’s Health System’s (Nemours) business teams and will focus on counseling on and negotiating arrangements for the health system. The Senior Counsel-Contracts will report to the Chief Legal Officer-Operations. The candidate will act as a proactive business partner in achieving Nemours’ business goals and objectives, while protecting Nemours’ interests by identifying and managing regulatory and other risks, and by providing timely, accurate and effective legal advice. The Senior Counsel-Contracts will provide legal counsel and guidance on a broad range of issues for Nemours and its operations, which include the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, Nemours Children’s Hospital, Nemours physician practices and ambulatory care operations in in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida, the Nemours Estate, Nemours Value Based Services Organization and the National Office.
US law degree (JD) required
Admitted to practice in at least one state with the ability to obtain Delaware in-house counsel admission
Must have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a corporate setting or in the private practice of law.
Must have experience with complex contracting in a healthcare environment (e.g. pharma, health system), including information technology and privacy matters, healthcare regulatory issues and commercial matters.
Must have proven leadership skills and an understanding of the value of “team” and a strong desire to build collaborative relationships inside and outside the organization.
